The Rising Republican Youth of South Florida, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Commission Bruno Barriero, State Senate candidate Dean Santoro, and State House candidate Jorge Luis Lopez, participate in a beach clean-up of Virginia Beach.
“Caring for our environment is something that I take very seriously. This is why I’ve made it a point to not just talk the talk but walk the walk. Along with keeping our environment clean, our campaign has taken other necessary eco-friendly steps, such as: Carpooling for all campaign stops and using Fuel Efficient cars (Smart Car).” Says Jorge Luis Lopez.

Crime and Public Safety: Protecting our families is my top priority. I will fight for increased funding for community policing and tougher legislation to keep criminals off the streets and our families safe.
Economy and Taxes: I will sponsor legislation that provides incentives for small business development and job growth, helping fortify our economic engine. I will also work to reduce our overall tax burden.
Effective Leadership: For too long, our community has served as a donor and does not get back what it pays in taxes. I will work on your behalf to make sure we get our fair share.
Education: Our children deserve the best education possible, without excuses. The State must properly fund class rooms and teachers. I will lead efforts to ensure that a fair share of your tax dollars are returned to our schools.

We need elected officials that recognize that there are no single “silver bullet” solutions to this problem (dependency on foreign oil). Mr. Lopez gets it! We need a combination of things… alternative energy, changing consumer behavior, etc…
